Jawline and Double-Chin Treatment in Korea for Men
A weak or blurred jawline may be caused by submental fat, large masseter muscles, a short chin, loose skin or skeletal shape. These causes require different treatments.
Assessment first. Realistic expectations. No pressure to proceed.
What concern does this address?
A package combining injections and devices is not automatically appropriate. The consultation should identify which tissue is responsible and whether the desired result is reduction, projection or tightening.
Several conditions can look similar
A visible concern does not always have a single cause. The first consultation should identify the underlying anatomy, tissue characteristics, previous treatment and the outcome the patient actually expects.
- Submental fat
- Large masseter muscles
- Short or retruded chin
- Skin laxity
- Jowling
- Jaw-bone shape or asymmetry
Treatment options that may be discussed
- Masseter botulinum toxinReduces muscle bulk but does not treat fat or a short chin.
- Chin or jawline fillerAdds projection or contour but may increase heaviness if poorly indicated.
- Fat-dissolving injectionMay reduce small fat deposits over multiple sessions with swelling risk.
- Energy-based tighteningMay help mild laxity but has limited effect on large fat deposits or bone.
- Submental liposuctionRemoves localised fat with surgical recovery.
- Chin implant or genioplastyChanges structural projection and requires surgical assessment.
- Neck or lower-face surgeryMay be needed for advanced laxity.
Who may be a suitable candidate?
Candidates should have a clearly identified cause and stable weight. Significant obesity, severe laxity or skeletal concerns may not respond adequately to a simple injection package.
Expected change and important limitations
No single treatment creates a “sharp jawline” in every face. Reducing masseter size can narrow the lower face but may reveal jowling. Adding filler can improve projection but may not suit a heavy lower face.
Recovery and international travel
Recovery ranges from same-day treatment to more than one week after liposuction or structural surgery. Compression, swelling, diet, exercise and flying instructions differ by modality.
Same day for injections; several days or longer for liposuction or surgery.
Variable — the treating doctor determines your schedule.
Questions to ask the doctor
- Is the main cause fat, muscle, chin projection, skin or bone?
- Will narrowing the masseter worsen jowling?
- What are the vascular risks of filler in this area?
- Would liposuction or surgery be more predictable?
- How long will swelling last?
- When can I fly and exercise?
